Sadly, the Lions are my favorite team because I married a die-hard, lifetime Lions fan. Like it or not, loving the Lions is a requirement. Over the past 14 years since I first met my husband, the Lions have grown on me - and that's not an easy statement to admit.

Before I met him, I didn't really follow football, but I knew enough to know that the Lions weren't very good. But, after many tailgate parties, the excitement of Monday night football games at the Silverdome, and spending more and more time watching the team - I was hooked. 
We are season ticket holders (going on year 4). We go to preseason games. We buy anything/everything that has the Lions logo on it. We go nuts when they win. We shake our heads when they lose. We've even traveled to Chicago for a few years to see them play the Bears at Soldier Field (this is not a trip for the weak) with all our Lions gear on. We are now both die-hard Lions fans who continue to watch the Lions and root for them every year, against all odds, because we are hopeful. Deep down, we have faith that the pieces will fall into place and the Lions will make it to the playoffs and eventually the Super Bowl. When that will happen remains to be seen, but we'll be there cheering them on every step of the way.
