FINALLY!
Today is the day I thought would never come. Ford FINALLY fired Millen. This day was 5-6 years in the making. I can't believe it took this long, but I'm so happy it finally happened that I'm completely beside myself. This is the best thing the Lions organization has done to help their team in years. Firing Millen IS moving forward. It's the only way.
Last year, I had a jersey custom-made for my husband. The name on it? FIREMILLEN 00
I'll put up a picture of it soon. We thought he could wear it for at least 2 more years! He'll still probably wear it as a fond memory that dumping his sorry excuse for a GM was the best decision ever.
This is like cutting off the cancer. Now the Lions can TRULY focus on rebuilding. Kicking Millen's a$$ ends years of crappy draft picks and the acceptance of awful performance and management. If Millen was working anywhere else running ANY other organization, he would have been fired years ago. Only in Detroit could anyone who sucks so bad actually keep his job. Just ask Kwame - he knows all about pulling the wool over people's eyes. I'll bet they took lessons from each other, or at least went to the same school of management.
Thank goodness the Millen era is over. Although he's out, the Lions still have NO defense, no offensive game, nothing special about their special teams and a coach that none of the players respect. All things combined equal a crappy team with no heart and no desire to win. Their most valuable player is STILL Jason Hanson. It's really bad when the kicker scores most of your total points. Even with Millen gone, these problems will still linger. I'm not sure that any coach will have success with anyone on the Lions roster. They need to wipe the whole team clean (ditch Kitna especially) and start over. The so-called talen Millen has acquired over the past years is a joke. This is the worst Lions team I've EVER seen. EVER.
Thanks goodness William Clay Ford Jr. had the balls to stand up and tells the truth. I don't think this day would have come without his acknowledgement that Millen's ineptness was stinking up the joint. The fact that Millen's out is a relief to myself and many other fans, I'm sure. it renews faith that the owner might actually care enough about the team and Lions fans. Ford FINALLY made a good decision. Let's build on THAT.
